Wisdom in Rap

I have stopped listening to a lot of the hip-hop & rap that I used to listen to because the music that I hear on the radio isn’t saying many positive things. The funny thing about that is that is exactly what my parents used to say about rap when I was listening to it. I feel as though there was wisdom in the lyrics of artist then and if you are still seeking it you can find some positive and wisdom riddled lyrics.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know that I can say last year was a hard one. Quite a few life changes, lost a few friends, and my freedom (though only momentarily). Reflecting on last year makes me realize I need to keep, maintain, and grow my relationship with my Lord and Savior. It is that relationship  (at times it was the ONLY relationship) that I rely on to keep me grounded and focused on what is important, both in this life and the next. I know my Lord well enough to know he wants the new 2016 version of me, not the played out 2015 version. That’s so last year! And my Lord deserves the best version of me (and you!) there is. 

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and may God’s favor surround you and your loved ones. Here’s to not only a year, but more importantly a new day!
