The King Of Pop 56th B-Day

Today would have been Michael Jackson’s 56th Birthday and regardless of how you feel about him personally, you can not deny the fact that he was a musical genius. Giving props where props are due I want to focus on the gift M.J. left us and that was his music. So today I have a few questions:

  1. What was your favorite M.J. song?
  2. What was your favorite album?
  3. What was your favorite video?
  4. Which Michael Jackson era were you raised?
  5. Where were you when you heard he had passed away?

Please share your thoughts and invite your friends to do the same.

Who Said Life Is Fair?

Yesterday I wrote about the road map to Random. That post was more about how I arrive in the Realm of Randomness so often. Make no mistake, I do not always enjoy being in the Realm of Randomness. From time to time I find valuable information within that realm, but if I could choose I would rather learn whatever I learn in that realm in the real world. I don’t get to choose as far as that is concerned but there are several things I DO get to choose and when given an option I like to make the best choice avaliable to me. I have compared the ablity to make choices to the NBA or NFL draft because they are alike in this way; the options avalible to others will not be the same avalible to you. For those readers who have no idea how the NBA or NFL draft works here is a very quick run down. Remember in grade school when team captains would pick who they wanted on their team? It just like that with 30 team captains. Moving on……

There are so many things in regards of day-to-day life that are not fair, but we all get choices. Some choices are choosing between two shitty options. Some people find themselves in a position to chose between two (or more) great options that’s life. This may not sound fair to many people and to those people I agree 100% but I would also say “Welcome to life.” If anyone told you that life is fair then you have been lied to. If you are an adult who still belives that life is fair then you have lived a VERY sheltered life. The rest of us know that life is not fair alot of us think that it should be and a few of us understand life never will be fair. Coming to the latter conclusion is a break-through within it’s self, with that understood I want to get back to choices. Even when you have to choose between dog shit or cat shit (neither one being a no-brainer) you make the choice that works best for you, because you will be the one to live through the concequences or reap the rewards.

“Some people manage to live above the bullsh*t that life handed them from birth.”

Here in America we have oppertunity which is something that a lot of people do not have. Oppertunity means that even if you were born into a bad situation it does not define the rest of your life. You can always make the best out of a bad situation. Some people manage to live above the bullshit life handed them from birth, but most don’t. That is more a result of the choices they have made through out their years than it is of anything else. The biggest system of oppression here in modern America is the one we create for ourselves. Thats not to say that there is no system of oppression as a minority I know better (I’m sure some women would also agree.) but that can be defeated. The limits we create in our own mind are the biggest hurddle we will encounter. The best way to defeat any system designed to hold you down is to first believe you can overcome, second make the best choice in any given situation.

Therapy Through Blogging: Road Map To Random

Most mental health professionals would tell you there is a theraputic value in journaling. Blogging has become the journaling of the digital age and tablets make blogging easier by making it possiable to blog from anywhere. I was not a huge beliver in mental health wellness until I came to the conclusion that I might have some mental heath issues myself. Before I started seeking some professional help I was determined to fight through whatever my diagnaosed condition turned out to be without the aid of medication. I say that only because I am currently in my early 30’s and have not needed medication up to this point in my life. I am also a recoving addict and medicating to feel better is tip-toeing on a very fine line for me.

Personally I don’t have anything against those whose mental health condition requires them to take medication. I do feel as though there is a tendency to perscribe medication and not enough focus on lifestlye changes and stress management. Writing has been as theraputic as venting and is now my go-to stress management tool. Whenever i find myself in a stressfull situation I look for something that I can write with and something I can write on. As I write this there is two women arguing a toddler screaming for no apparent reason and a arouma of funky feet. This would typically cause me to have a melt down, but instead i’m writing and pinching my nose. Of courese this did not change any of the stress causing conditions that I mentioned before but it is helping me manage the stress.

The Realm of Randomness

Stress and stressful conditions have been some of the main reasons I would find myself dirfting off into Randomness. Randomness has become a escape from the daily madness that surrounds me. From time to time when I would retreat to Randomness I would discover some valuable (or invaluable which oddly enough means the same thing) revelation that I would most likely soon forget due to the constant chaos that I would have to come back to. In order to remember the revelations discovered in the Realms of Randomness I decided to journal them. Then my desire to share the same revelations prompted me to look into blogging which is nothing but an online version of a journal.

And here we are, The Revelations of Randomness was born out of chaos, confusion, and stress in order to help deal with chaos, confusion, and stress. So far so good.

The Method of Randomness

Thanks for your interest in Randomness. Perhaps the fact you have an interest in Randomness and if so then that’s something we have in common. Random facts renewed a long term lease in the high rent district of my frontal lobe (the view is amazing with great schools nearby) so I guess I might as well get used to Random because Random will be around for a while. Random, however, should not be mistaken as useless because there is a difference. Useless information as it’s name would suggest is just useless. Random information (by the definition random) lacks any real structure, pattern, purpose or objective but could still come in handy. That kinda describes the way I think most of my thoughts, or how a conversation with me must seem to anyone within the sound of my voice (or this post). There was a method to the reason behind this post and that is to help you understand what it is I hope to deliver to readers of Randomness. Simply put I hope to deliver information. A lot of information that covers a lot of trending topics and I hope it creates a lot of conversations. Conversations, which I hope will help us understand the seemingly Randomness that we identify in others while overlooking the fact that others think the same about us. We are all Random to those who don’t know us, but that is something that we have in common. Like a family, we might not know distant relatives but we still have that common bond which is our Randomness. The categories from where the trending topics of any future posts to this bolg will be one of the following; News (from mainstream media sources to tabloid journalist) Sports (mostly American major sports pro, collegiate, and perhaps even prep) Technology Health and Wellness Urban/ “Ol’ Wives” tales And whatever else I find “blog-worthy” Keep in mind that Randomness is a constant work in progress and is an art more than a science. Currently the majority of the information that I have been collecting can be found in online magazines on Flipboard. If you don’t know about Flipboard go to the “Flipboard” page on my blog site and educate yourself. Then download the app from the links on that “Flipboard” page and start ‘flipping”. You can subscribe to anyone of my magazines (find me by searching “RoR”, short for Revelations of Randomness) , contribute to other peoples, and even create your own. If you do create your own magazine, please share it with me and I will share it with everyone who ends up following this blog (all six of them, lol). At this time the magazines I have include the categories in the list above and there are other magazines that exist for your viewing and reading pleasure. There my be changes to the titles of the current magazines and if that does happen I will announce those changes within the cyber walls of this blog. Below are the links and the titles of the magazines available now (I forgot to mention everything is 100% free). Random suggestions are encouraged (rude comments are ignored) you can send those Random suggestions to me any number of ways; Via email: Via Facebook: Via Twitter: @revofrandom Via comments section. The frequency of postings to this blog has yet to be determined. I am hoping to find contributors who blog about topics that I want to include in the Realm of Randomness. If you would like to be a contributor then please contact me. I think that’s enough Randomness for now. Here are the links as I promised. Sports 2014: Entertainment: Technology: pAWWWWWs (pronounced ‘Pause’): Abuse of Power: This Message Will Self-Destruct……: You Outta Know: Your Random Weekly Wrap-Up: Random Stuff [NSFW]: And for all you football fans out there be sure to check out #NFL3D: #NFL3D is full of Fantasy Football tips, cheat sheets, mock drafts, and analysis. This is for everyone who enjoys the game of football.

Here is another addition to the world of ‘RoR’ we call ‘pAWWWWWs’ (pronounced ‘Pause’). In ‘pAWWWWWs’ you will find images, stories, and quotes that highlight the things we sometime speed past in the world of instant gratification. We should all take some time to ‘pAWWWWWs’ and smell the roses.

Why Must Trolls Always Troll?

It was sad enough to hear about the untimely death of Robin Williams. It is even sadder that family members have to leave social media sites due to “trolls”. In recent news, the daughter of the late Robin Williams was harassed to the point of exhaustion. This was due to the “twitter trolls” who have nothing better to do than harass people while they morn their loss. In the wake of this, Twitter has promised to “crack-down” on cyber bullies. Let’s hope so.

Allow Me to Re-Introduce Myself: #randomness

Hello WordPress readers and everyone else who might end up reading this, I am one of the authors of this concept that has been code named #randomness. My name isn’t important so don’t worry about it, niether is; where I am from, where I currently live, where I currently work, IF I currently have a job, if I am a male or female, if I prefer Mac over PC, if I prefer Xbox One over PS4, and any other question not directly tied to the concept on #randomness. So now I shall try to explain #randomness, it was think-tanked as a collection of content (mostly online, but if we discover other mediums that #randomness exists then we will find a way to deliver it to our readers) and wrap it up in a way that allows people who subscribe to the blog to consume the information socially and easily.

So far we have a eight magazines on Flipboard (if you don’t know what Flipboard is you are missing out on the best app for current events) they are;

‘You Outta Know‘: A collection of trending topics or content.

‘Sports 2014’: Covers major American sports news (i.e. football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, MMA, and boxing) both college and professional.

‘Technology’: Covers tech news from across the U.S. and the World.

‘Entertainment’: Covers news trending in entertainment outlets from the web along with other entertaining viral content.

‘#NFL:3D’: a concept that informs readers about the many dimensions of the NFL from news to Fantasy Football to Sports Betting/Investing.

‘Abuse of Power’: covers news of corruption and dirty public officials and the fall out of their scandals.

‘Your Weekly Random Wrap-Up’: the more interesting stories from the trending topics, sports, tech, and news of the World. As well as post from this and other interesting blogs we have come across that week.

‘This Message Will Self Destruct…..’: this magazine explores the conspiracy community and some of the more talked about cover-ups, or mis-information delivered by traditional media outlets.

There will be other topics we will hope to cover (we are open to suggestions too) and the idea is to create discussions about the more serious topics and as well as a place were we can poke fun at the more sillier content. Please send your comments and suggestions to us
